How to enable a trash folder on ReadyNAS Duo 2

Can I raise a question about the Recycle Bin logic of the DUO-v1?
I use this feature. I do understand the Time/Days metric. Please explain the File Size metric! I am clueless as to how to use this setting.
I do accept that the DUO does its' best to clean out the Recycle Bin via the setting I choose. Do these settings 'assume' that my DUO runs 24/7 hot?
I allow my drives to go to sleep after 2 hrs of inactivity. I suspect this 'nap' feature kinda-sorta interrupts my chosen Recycle Bin logic. Is this correct?
I do see that the Recycle Bin is eventually cleansed; but, mostly many days/weeks later............. :D
