I thought I understood DNS?
So, I read my Duo-V2 SW manual. And, I get to page 63 where Netgear shows 5 paragraphs explaining DNS. Fine. :o I read and re-read paragraph 4. Really? :shock: "... If you selected the option...

Allow me to try to clarify the paragraph;
If you selected the option to assign an IP address manually when you configured your
Ethernet settings, you must manually specify the IP addresses of the DNS servers.
If you want to access your ReadyNAS system over the Internet via DNS NAME (ie http://www.whateveryourdomainnameis.com), you must manually specify the domain name, in addition to having your dns name point to your internet connection's IP.
If you do not have a domain name, then simply leave it blank.
If you want to access your readynas over the internet without a domain name, you can do so directly via the external ip of your internet connection and with the applicable port forwards from your firewall/router.
