Impossible cancel RN10200

On the 2 Tera Netgear RN10200 I have 97 GB of free space.
I want to delete a folder of about 250 GB. After a long wait comes a window that says: "The operation can not be completed because the disk is full".
What should you do?
Thanks for a reply.

  • Dear Guru, thanks to your teachings everything has been solved. Better than the official Netgear support. Sincerely.

Do you have snapshots?  If so, you will need to delete the snapshots for the share the folder is in.

If that still fails, try deleting the folder from the admin web ui.

I tried to do it from the web. Seems to work because it deletes files and folders but then does not change anything in terms of space.

Ok.  Note that space is reclaimed in the background, so it might not show up right away.

Did you follow the advice about snapshots I gave above?  If there are snapshots of the share, the next step is to delete them.

After that, run a balance from the volume settings wheel.  That could take quite a while (days in some cases) - it depends on how fragmented the free space is.
