JBOD setup, cant access second volume

I have a readynas duo v2 with a pair of 2 terabyte drives. I have just maxed out the first volume and now I am getting messages telling me there is no space when the second drive is empty. There are no indications that anything is wrong with the second drive. Anyone have any advice to offer to fix this?

  • How have you configured the drives, are they setup as 1 volume of 4 tb or as 2 separate volumes?
My understanding of the duo v2 handling of JBOD is that each disk is independent of the others ( each disk is a volume), in which case the NAS is responding appropriately.
Are you trying to add data to the second disk's volume?
  • I think I understand now, to use the second volumes date I have to create folders on it via the dashboard. I had assumed it would work like a single drive.

This is what I see on the dashboard. I guess I misunderstood when I was setting up the drive (this was a while back, around new year).
  • That's it.
Perhaps you can move some of your existing shares onto the d volume rather than create new shares.

I really would advise you, if you don't already, to have a backup of all your data that you keep up to date.
The arrangement you have offers no redundancy protection and is not a backup.
