Left and right hand? 4.2.25 NOT actually automatic?
It would appear that the right/left hands of Netgear don't seem to be in sync. Here I WAS having issues with my new MBP and Time Machine, I allowed my ReadyNAS to automatic update its firmw...

If email alerts are configured, you will get an email message about the update at some point after it hits the Netgear download servers I wait for that unless I am wanting a critical bug fix.
I wouldent set "automatic" ether as I want to control when and if my ReadyNAS gets updated. However, if you manually click "update" all it will fetch for you is 4.2.24 and if you already have it installed you'll get a "you already have the latest version running" message. I had to find the release version, copy it to local and the update from there to get it loaded. :(
I would EXPECT that when Netgear anounces that a new version is available AND they recommend that the "easiest way" of updating is via automatic or simply clicking on "update" that doing so would actually work. :?
When I left home this AM my MBP was doing a TM backup. However the latest patch is not without faults. When my MBP attaches to the ReadyNAS TM it reports the FULL size of of the drive and free space on my ReadyNAS instead of reporting the size and remaining free space that I limited it to when enabling TM on the ReadyNAS. I don't wish to fill my ReadyNAS with TM backups. Hopefully this is simply a size reporting issue and TM is actually restricted to the space I assigned to it.
Being new to Apple products in general and this is my 1st MAC, I don't know when Apple broke their own network protocol or how long it took Netgear to come out with a fix, however I'm pleased that Netgear is willing to make updates so that their products remain compatible.
