Mac Access as Admin
Hi,
I am getting a Mac next week, and a little unsure of the big wide world of Mac.!
Currently on my PC, I have to connect to the files as Admin (using DOS Prompt etc) - otherwise I cant change, add, delete files, without it through up a User Access Error.
How do I connect this way, using a Mac.??
On a tangent, the above is a right pain.!
Is there a way that I can access/amend files normally - without having to connect in this way.?? It's something like Unix/Root access rights.!?!?

- Kojak1AspirantI know what you mean, I am already converted I think.! But defo need to download a shortcuts PDF and learn these bad boys.
And I have already stumbled on the window size snag - and I also can't seem to get the 'path' to display when I hav finder open. So it is hard to differentiate between two folders with same names.!!!
I will look at the above sync options.
It isn't vital to sync offsite, but I do want it to Sync and not just backup. - Kojak1AspirantWell Time Machine doesn't seem to work with my NAS - so I give up for tonight.!
- xeltrosApprenticeto display the path download Onyx http://www.titanium.free.fr/downloadonyx.php
in parameters, finder, display path in window title.
For time machine, mavericks made some changes, try to update your NAS to a newer firmware. - Kojak1AspirantIt has got 5.3.10
Am I missing something simple.? I just have my Mac, and then my NAS which is in my router. - xeltrosApprenticeI only have had 6.x versions so, can't tell if your version is good or not.
as long as you can access the NAS via AFP you are good to go (for the network part) with time machine since that's what it uses. You obviously have to enable time machine on your NAS for it to work. - Kojak1Aspirant
