mac can't access shares on RN10400 and password lost/forgotten.
Hi,
I have four shares on my ReadyNas and I can see them on SMB connection. Worked fine until yesterday. Now, when I click on any one of the shares, I get a message "The operation can’t be completed because the original item for “Videos” can’t be found.". I have also lost/forgotten my username/password combination, so I can not access the device as an administrator. Want to do a reset (I think I have to), but am afraid to lose all data. When I connect with RAIDar, all for disks are showing healthy, but again, username/password is required and I can not do any more than observe.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Bulent

You can try an OS reinstall - that resets the IP configuration dhcp, and resets the admin password to "password", It should not affect other settings or data.
Pages 23-24 of the hardware manual describe the procedure: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/READYNAS-100/RN%20OS%206%20Desktop%20HW%20UM_15Oct2013.pdf
Did you check if the IP address of the Nas changed?

Hello bboytorun,
Welcome to the community!
You may see this article How do I recover a lost or forgotten administrator password on my ReadyNAS OS 6? to access admin page again.
Once you are in, verify if the SMB is enabled for Videos, then check the permission settings of this share.

Thank you. I've done it all, worked well. Then had to update firmware. Now restarting. More than 30 minutes passed and still restarting. Any suggestions?

Which firmware did you update from/to? If you just updated to 6.4 for the first time it may take some time to calculate the quotas particularly if you have a lot of snapshots.
