Mirrored HD from ReadyNads Duo to ReadyNas Nv+ (#17049293)
Hi.
I have a ReadyNas Duo that is completely dead and I have probably the RAID 0 HD that has some problem as well.
I have just received one brand new ReadyNas NV+ with a couple of HDs. I have to boot it for the first time, but before booting it I would liked to know what would happen if
I boot it for the first time using one new HD + my second HD (the working one) from my previous ReadyNas Duo.
Would the new nas recognize and sync the data in this second HD?
What is the right procedure to make it work?
Thanks for your help!

- If you are trying to recover the data, I will recommend that you contact support. But if not, them you may just perform a factory reset. Please also append the case # that you will get from a support rep to the subject of your post.
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWere you using a single RAID-0 striped volume (i.e. if you had 2x2TB disks did you have a 4TB volume C?) or were you using separate RAID-0 volumes (i.e. if you had 2x2TB disks did you have two 2TB volumes, volume C and volume D?)?
- sorcimattAspirantsorry for my mistake ...actually the two HDs were in RAID X!
I have just opened a ticket with the support and I will update the subject title straight away! - Just continue your troubleshooting sessions with the support team.
- It is beeter to start you NV+ with only original disk 2, the system should be start if the the disk has no issue.
Then hot-add a new brand disk to redundance it. but I did not suggest you to do that.
It is better to start the NV+ with original disk 2, then backup all of it data.
then factory default all of you NV+ with all disks, because the ReadyNAS Duo only worked with Raid-1 for volume data. and the NV+ X_RAID work in Raid_5.
