Need to access external USB backup drive
Hey Guys,
I have a USB 3.0 backup drive with some very important files on it that I was using with my ReadyNAS Duo v2.
I recently upgraded to Pro 2 and I am trying to access this backup drive.
I've tried connecting it to the Pro 2, but doesn't mount or detect any file systems.
I've tried connecting to Mac OS X 10.8 and Windows 7, but both won't mount. Just tells me to initialize. :(
This USB drive unfortunately has my wedding photos... :slap:
What can I do to access these files?
Thanks so much!
edit:
I installed a ext3 driver onto my Mac and it reads the drive and the content is there but it's super slow and everything I try to copy the content to the NAS I get error -50 when the copy starts.
I tried plugging the USB drive to the front USB 3.0 port, but the NAS still does not read the drive. This is depressing...

- de_niroGuidewhat is the firmware version of your Pro 2?latest version is 4.2.22,not sure why your USB drive can not recognized in NAS.
copying with -50 error message should be the problem with Appledouble folders.
Here is a way to copy data from your Mac machine to NAS without being stopped by Mac OS
1.Enable Rsync service on your shares of NAS
2.download Rsync for Mac software http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/20983/arrsync
3.select folders you want to copy to NAS. - hey de niro,
I'm running the latest version firmware. I'll give rsync a shot and get back!
Thanks so much!
