New disk problems - 3 tb
Just bought a new 3000 gb Seagate disk to replace my old 500 gb but for some reason my ready Nas duo only detects 764 gb on the disk - I tried a system restore and a firmware upgrade but it still didnt help.
I only use one disk. Any solution for this? Seems a bit silly to buy a 3000 gb when you can only use 764 gb.....

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredIs this a Duo (v1) i.e. it runs RAIDiator 4.1.x or earlier? The firmware release notes specifically state that drives greater than 2TB are not supported. See http://www.readynas.com/RAIDiator_4_1_8_Notes
Also if you consulted the compatibility list (http://www.readynas.com/hcl) before purchase you would have noted that the Duo (v1) does not have any disks larger than 2TB in capacity on the compatibility list.
There is no GPT support for Sparc. What's happened on your system is entirely expected when using 3TB disks.
Only the x86 and ARM ReadyNAS models support 3TB drives. The RAID format is different so you can't migrate your disks across.
Welcome to the forum! - PapaBear1ApprenticeSimonrped, hopefully you can return the disk and get a 2TB drive that is on the list.
