NFS enable on ReadyNas Duo v2?

The Duo v2 and NV+ v2 don't currently support NFS.

However if you are comfortable with the command line you can enable it: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=11599502

You can enable SSH access by installing this add-on: http://www.readynas.com/download/addons/arm/5.3/EnableRootSSH_1.0-arm.bin

Username is 'root' not 'admin' and password should be set by default to your admin password.

On Mac or Linux use the Terminal. In Mac OS X this is found under Applications > Utilities Terminal

ssh root@ip.address.of.nas

On Windows, download the free PuTTy app and use that to connect.

You can simply change the 'root' password though:

MDGM-NAS:~# passwd
Enter new UNIX password: 
Retype new UNIX password: 
passwd: password updated successfully

It's a pity not to have NFS on this new version. A regression...

I have just returned a ReadyNas Duo V2 to the supplier as it did not have two facilities that were essential to us: rsync and NFS. We already had a Duo (V1) and had of course assumed that there would not be fewer features on a Duo V2. Luckily the supplier refunded immediately when I told him what had happened.
Now happily using a Synology DS212j box!
