No access to NAS folders from 1 computers
LS
I hope that someone can help me with a connection problem of one of my computers to the readynas-duo.
Observations:
• I cannot acces the folders on the NAS from desktop 1
• In Raidar the IP adres 192.168.1.103 of NAS visible
• In Raidar cannot acces setup / frontview (no response in browser)
• In windows explorer no response to IP adres
• No response to a ping 192.168.1.103
• All other computers and my i-Pad work fine
• I tested some other physical network configurations (see also below)
Network configuration:
Modem-Router connection 1-NAS
Modem – Router connection 2– Switch on the attic – not connecting desktop 1
Modem – Router connection 3 – connecting desktop 2 in living room
It went wrong after I temporarily replaced my router with a switch, subsequently put the router back and since then my desktop 1 cannot access the folders on the NAS anymore.
Solves problem: physically connecting the NAS to the switch on the attic (but rather do not, as is wrong place for me)
Does not solve: removing the switch on the attic and connect desktop 1 directly to the router
So, the question is how to get desktop 1 access to the folders restored?
Thanks for your suggestions!

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserWhat IP address and subnet mask are configured on desktop 1? (also what is configured on the NAS).
Can desktop 1 ping the router, desktop 2, and and access the internet?
If you reverse connection 2 and connection at the router, does the problem move? - RobZoetAspirantDear StephanB,
I just solved the problem!
Nevertheless thanks for the feedback, so I will give an answer to your suggestions and explain how I solved it for other users.
Regarding your questions: All computers have in the IP adress range 100-104.
Desktop 1 has internet access, can ping the router, just not the NAS is not responding to the ping (whilst it is visible in raidar).
I can access the folders from computer 1 and 2 mutually. I can access the NAS from desktop 2 and even wireless through the filebrowser of an iPad.
Very very strange.
What I just did, I replaced the router with a switch. Now everything worked fine! So the problem must be the Linksys wrt 160NL router.
I put the router back. In the router I looked at the client tabel for all IP adresses. All computers and the NAS are shown.
Switching off/on the router did not solve the problem. So in the end I just did a hard reset of the router, wiping all configuration settings. I just reinstalled it.
Now everything is working again.
So there must have been something wrong in the router setting, but do not have a clue what it was.
I hope this is of some help for others facing the problem. It took me around 6 hours to find out...
Thanks again. - StephenBGuru - Experienced Userweird problem... I am glad you managed to overcome it.
