No volumes exist error

Background:

Encountered a different error with my readynas 214 quite a while ago that left my NAS in a read-only state.  Got busy with other things (and actually sort-of considered read-only a "good thing" since my data couldn't be overwritten..) and just left it for a while.

 

Until.. it just stopped woSrking entirely (I think the triggering event was a power outage that caused the NAS to power cycle.. but fixing this has been on the back-burner for a while.. so I'm not certain).

 

Problem:
I'm getting an error message:

"No volumes exist.

No volume exists.  NETGEAR recommends that you create a volume before configuring other settings.

Navigate to the System -> Volumes page to create a volume"

 

.. and it appears that all of my data has been wiped out.

 

So my questions are as follows:

  1. Is this recoverable?  (Not the end of the world if not, data is backed up..)
  2. If I need to start all over again, is there any diagnostics or troubleshooting I should run before populating it with data?

    Often the volume can be remounted, but there can be some corrupted files.

    Download the full log zip file from the logs page.  If you have trouble figuring out what it means, you can send me a private message (PM) that includes a link to the full log zip (dropbox, google drive, etc).  Make sure that the permissions are set so anyone with the link can download.  You send a PM using the envelope icon in the upper right of the forum page.
