NV+ V2 stalling when 80%+ full (20047616)
i've recently purchased one of the Netgear ReadyNAS NV+ V2 units and have become very unhappy with it. it started out ok and could copy files to it at good rate, now that the unit is over 80% full i've been coming accross the smbd stall on IO Wait issue that seems to plague this unit :(
after coming to these fourms i found that there are many other users with the same issues and none of the solutions they have had for them posted around converting to EXT3 has made the copy issues any better for me.
i have linked the other topics i could find with same issues that have been plagueing me so far. i have logged a support case (20047616) with netgear but their "remote access policy" is very bad and i can't agree to it.

no hopes should be raised I feel :(
as I suspected it did not resolve my issue :( - ihartleyTutorHere's a question that I worry about:
* If they release a patch that does not fix the problem, what is the risk that they release a patch that is detrimental (i.e. deletes data...)
If you don't know what you're doing (which you must not by releasing patches that don't work)......... - hauser1Aspirant

50-50 depends how much you trust netgear to release a good patch.. very easy for them to have a patch that reformats the drives... - TokfanAspirantAny news?
I just experienced this problem my self yesterday and had no idea this could happen. I will call my supplier first thing in on monday morning to talk to them about a warranty claim to be able to send it back and get my money back since this is a know issue that was built into the product from the start. I love the consumer rights in Sweden, we have all rights on our side for 3!!! years if it's proven to be a product error. :) Only thing is the 4,4Tb of data that i need to put on floppy disks while i get a new NAS. (never ever a netgear again tho).
I hope they will fix this NOW, but I guess me bringing world peace has a better chance of happening. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredA firmware update 5.3.8 is due to be released soon.

Can you be more specific please? I need to know if I can hold off on calling the supplier or if it will take several more months? I can live with one more week, but anything else is futile. - ihartleyTutorResistance is futile!! In the meantime to calm you down, let me read you some poetry:
Oh freddled gruntbuggly Thy micturations are to me As plurdled gabbleblotchits on a lurgid bee.
Groop I implore thee, my foonting turlingdromes. And hooptiously drangle me with crinkly bindlewurdles,
Or I will rend thee in the gobberwarts with my blurglecruncheon, see if I don't! - ZaimAspirantI tried the patch and it sort of made things a little better, now I'm having trouble reading/writing to the NAS, it'll either write/read for 30 seconds and give me a access denied message or as soon as the copy/read process starts it hangs.
I'm really annoyed with netgear, Had problems since day one, I should be given a upgrade to the new NAS. - hauser1Aspirant

that was very good but could you have just thrown me out of the airlock instead?
on a side note, NETGEAR aren't quick about anything....NETGEAR Support wrote:

that was posted nearly 1 week ago! - TokfanAspirantIt might just be one man/woman handling the coding for all their products, it wouldn't surprise me at all considering the lack of progress and answers you guys have had since the first thread started.
Is it all Netgear NAS'es that has this problem or just the consumer products like the nv and nv+ v2?
