NV+ wont power up
I have NV+ that is about 6.5 years old, and has been running pretty much continuously since purchase.
We recently went on a 2 week vacation, so I turned everything off including the NV+. Now it wont power back up.
when I hit the power button NOTHING happens; no light, no fan, no noise, nothing.
sounds like power supply, but I don't really know. I tried it on multiple power outlets just to make sure it wasn't that.
does anyone have any troubleshooting tips for this box?
thanks

- Marto731AspirantMark,
There is a lot of discussion of this topic at this link
http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=65944
In the short term, you want to get a friends NV+, and insert disks in.
There is another link on the Forum, from 2009, I think re wiring in a alternative power supply.
Interesting that you have got 6.5 years of usage. You are out of 3 or 5 year warranty.
The power supplies will go in these NV+ v1's eventually, so it is important to have files backed up, and photo
burnt to CD's for example.
Regards, Marto - markg1Aspirantthanks for the info
fyi, this is the server I use for backup, so no lost files (unless the main server decides to die in the meantime...) - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserCheck this post: viewtopic.php?t=10259
If the NAS serial number is within the specified range, then you are entitled to a new power supply from netgear, even if you are out of warranty. - markg1Aspirant

outside that range, unfortunately, but thanks for the tip! - markg1AspirantI found this power supply that looks like it should fit:
250W Enhance ENP-7025B Power Supply 80 PLUS Bronze Certified
anyone know if it will for sure? or any other suggestions?
it is $45 on amazon vs $129 for a NV+ specific one
thanks
mark - markg1AspirantI went to order the enhance supply, but someone in the feedback section said that Netgear would sell me a power supply for about $26 shipped.
so I called netgear support and they sold me one.
saved me a ton of aggravation modifying the wiring
ps. this post just goes to show that netgear participation on this forum is DEAD
