OS6 > rsync uid 4294967295 (-1) is impossible to set on...

If you get this error message by RSYNC backup:

"backup failed" error (though the files are copied!), and the log is full of entries like this: uid 4294967295 (-1) is impossible to set on [filename]

TNX to WhoCares, solution works on x86 based R6 ReadyNAS, not an ARM one:

1. I did stop the RSYNC in frontview, under SYSTEM > SETTINGS > SERVICES
2. with program like putty I connected to my NAS using SSH
3. write the the following commands:

wget http://readynasxtras.com/rsync_3.0.9-4.0rnx1_amd64.deb
dpkg -i rsync_3.0.9-4.0rnx1_amd64.deb

4. start RSYNC again, , under SYSTEM > SETTINGS > SERVICES
5. start the backup job again

After all, the backups jobs under 6.0.4 working again without the errors.

Becouse this problem has appeared in ver. 4.1.18

Anyway, I hope you get some donation from users, which appreciate your work.

We'll pull in that log message removal change in the next release.
  • Hi WhoCares?

Would you mind posting Your ARM Version. It would be great.

What firmware are you running? Do you still see this problem?
