Osx as a router ?
I have moved house and currently have no router near my ReadyNAS duov1.
I have good wifi signal(after using Ethernet over power line and a spare router) to a Mac mini OSX10.7 which is next to my duo. Is it possible to have my mac act as router and share the duos data across the network?
I guess the Mac mini could creates it own wifi network (albeit with limited wifi strength) on a different SSID?
Second question - if that isn't a workable solution - can I get another router to join the existing network and connect it to the duo and Mac mini? Is this bridge mode?
Thanks for any advice

You were right that your Duo v1 should be within the 192.168.1.xx range. It seems to me that your Duo has a static IP address set on it. I suggest you to perform OS reinstall. OS reinstall will set the password back to its default which is "netgear1" without the quotation marks. Also, the NAS will be set back as being a DHCP client and this will not delete any data saved in the NAS.
Here is the link as reference guide to perform OS reinstall on your Duo v1: http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detai ... RobQ%3D%3D - StephenBGuru - Experienced Userneo737 - the default password for your duo v1 is "netgear1", not "password". So if you do an OS reinstall, that's what it will be reset to.
If you find it tricky to do the OS reinstall (w/o a front panel it can be a bit daunting), you can also do a "direct connect". That is, connect an ethernet cable directly between the PC and the NAS. Then configure the IP address of the PC to 10.1.1.3 temporarily. That will let you browse to https://10.1.1.4/admin and reset the IP configuration to automatic. - neo737AspirantHi everyone. Thanks for your help. I changed the ip addresss of the router to 10.1.1.1 and got access to duo that way. Finally this thing is useful again after many lost hours. Thanks
