Hi, The Readynas Pro I have has locked 6 of my hitachi hard drives with a password. I think you need to give some more information regarding the drive models you are using.From what you write, it reads as if you have used drives that have full-disk encryption: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disk_encryptionIf that is the case, then as you say, you need to know what the ReadyNAS does when asked for a password. This might require a call/email with support to help you out.

Hi, the drives used are the follwing (x 6 );500GB Hitachi 0F11000 3.5in 25.4MM 32MB 7200RPM SATA ULTRA A7K2000 (HUA722050CLA330)Looking at Hitachi's part numbers, hardware encrypted drives end with "1" (so HUA722050CLA331 would be the encrypted model equivalent of drive/s I'm using)I think it can only be the Readynas that's locked the HDD. (I was going to use the Hitachi drive test tool while the NAS was down)I've got a support case open, 15138711, and have had a pm message for a password to try.Hopefully the NAS they came out of will unlock them, if it can be fixed.
