Password for Locked Hard Drives
Hi, The Readynas Pro I have has locked 6 of my hitachi hard drives with a password.
Can any one tell me how the Readynas generates it's password to lock it's drives? and how I could save my drives?
I get a message similar to this when put in a PC.
Auto-Detecting Sec Master: IDE Hard Disk:
Hard Disk locked, enter user password:
<Password forgotten, press enter to continue>
Hard Disk locked, enter master password:
(Hitachi support say "A: Unfortunately, there is no way to bypass the security password feature of Hitachi hard disk drives. If the password is not known or has been misplaced, Hitachi will not be able to assist in gaining access to the data on the drive.")
