I don’t believe the option in 6.1.5. Rsync works to reset owners and group after transfer if the copied files have owners or groups that don't exist on the 6.1.5 based NAS. In addition, I think there are problems with Share - [Folder name] - Setting - File Access - Reset feature when the gid or uid that doesn't exist on the destination NAS.
Here is how I solved my problems.
On the Ultra Plus, I copied a share using rsync to a temporary share (I didn't want to mess with my live data) and I reset the owner and group to admin under the shares advanced options.
Then I rynced the temporary share using the Pro 312 as host to the correct destination share name. Once the rsync had completed I went to Share - [Folder name] - Settings - File Access and reset the owner and group to Guest.
By following this procedure, I think I am good to go and have been running on the Pro 312 without a peep of problem for most of sunday and today.
One comment and I'm not sure, if it meaningful as I may have gotten the order of things confused a bit. At one point, I think I still had a permission problem and I didn't have full read/write access on some files. Using Windows I changed the permission to read/write from unchecking the read only check box. Or, as I said this was just an imaginary event that didn't really happen or have the affect described.
