Thanks for that, seezee. Yes, I am aware, but I'm about to post in the installations and upgrades forum for clarification on that point.
And as a continuation to my earlier post (something I forgot to ask), IIRC from the last time I did this, if I'm adding a blank HDD to an array, it should be cold-plugged, but a used disk should be hot-plugged.
For instance, the HDDs in my NV+ are larger than those in my NV, so I plan to hand them down from the NV+ to the NV as they are replaced. If memory serves, when I put the new 2TB HDD in the NV+, it should be cold-plugged, but when I migrate the 1.5TB drives to the NV, because they already have been written to, they should be hot-plugged. Am I close?
