One thing to consider is that PLEX more recently added a feature that enables to to pre-transcode new media so that it can be direct played to various devices. So a NAS without the grunt to live-transcode can still get the job done in the background, if you don't mind waiting for the conversion -- sort of the same way it handles syncing.

Yes. And though it takes space on the NAS, the converted media usually quite a bit smaller than the original.

Thanks. I do not use or plan in using Plex.
My question is about finding a firmware version 6.2.4 (the one used to upgrade from 4)
Where can I download previous firmware versions so I can hopefully revive the unit.
I will be happy with even a version OS 4.
Thank you

Downgrades from 6.6 to 6.2.4 aren't recommended. In general googling for the older releases works quite well... :smileywink: http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/27497
You might also need this procedure for that: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Using-your-ReadyNAS/How-to-downgrade-firmware-from-6-4-0-to-6-2-5-on-RN104-Please/td-p/1016511
There is some info on reverting to OS 4 here: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Community-Add-ons/Downgrade-to-RAIDiator-x86-from-ReadyNAS-OS-notsupported/m-p/859412
