Hello guigui_bebert,
Are you trying to get the NAS to download a file from an HTTP link that works like a torrent file? Can you explain what or where the server the NAS will be downloading from?

hello,
This is exactly what i wish to achieve.
In this exact case I was trying to download on the NAS some heavy install files from a software editor wich does not provide torrent or ftp shares.
Files would be put to disposal on the rn to be accessed locally on the rn104 (not on the same network as I was located).
Of course there are many workaround ways to do this, including connecting remotely to a machine on the distant network downloading it from there and setting the target on the readynas but since I have seen this feature on some devices like synology nas out of the box or a network provider modem/server (even including a chrome extension enabling the server as a target) I was wondering how to do it on a readynas.
After some researches I did not find anything so I decided to ask here ;-)
Thanks

Hello guigui_bebert,
If there server where the files will coming from has an option to connect or be copied to DropBox, can you check this DropBox will work? The idea of the DropBox is whatever file you copy to your DropBox account will be stored to anywhere you have installed DropBox application, that includes NAS if it has the app too.

Hello JennC,
Thanks for your reply.
As a matter of fact the editor does not provide a dropbox option. Furthermore, the files in question were zipped part archives, totalling about 20Go.
As i said, I know there are many workaround to a problem like this (one of wich I used) but since I might encounter that same problematic I wanted to know if such a feature existed.
And next time I might be abroad and only able to connect with my smartphone.
Therefore a simple download from HTTP/set the NAS as a target would have been simpler.
From what I understand there is no app/functionality that would cover my needs.
thanks anyway for your time.
