Radiator 4.1.13 still gets corrupted after several weeks

I have a Readynas NV+ with 4 supported disks, 1GB of RAM running Radiator 4.1.13.

What happens every month or two months is this:

  • I suddenly get a very bad read performance, videos stutter.

  • Raidar doesn't show the firmware version (4.1.13) any more, and neither does Frontview.

  • It is not possible to shutdown the Readynas from Frontview, you have to use the on/off button.

After the reboot I can start an update from local. After the reboot and update there is a lot of disk activity.

What can this be, and how can I resolve this problem?

There are some reports here from other users saying that the memory upgrades started creating issues with new firmware in the sparc products. I'm not saying that is your issue, but I am wondering...
  • This problem started occurring in 4.1.12., so did you change anything in the memory management or cache management modules at that time? I would be inclined to look there if it is a software problem.

You seem to be thinking I work for Netgear. I don't.
  • Sorry, indeed I thought you were a Netgear representative.

I've been using the NV+ for years with 1GB, and suddenly there is a problem with 1GB RAM? Surely that problem must be traceable and solvable?

One of several threads is here: viewtopic.php?f=64&t=70052&p=401701#p401701

No opinion on how easily solved. Memory upgrades have always been a bit hit or miss, and in the case of the v1 unit we are dealing with an unusual CPU.
