Question

i have install 6.9.5 on ultra 2&nbsp;&nbsp;but the admin page is not workiong&nbsp;&nbsp;and its got an ip 192.168.10.100&nbsp;and is sysc the volume. &nbsp; and its doing it aging&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;from oliver&nbsp;

Did you also upgrade the RAM to 2GB?&nbsp; I've not heard of specific issues due to insufficient RAM before OS6.10.x, but you're going to need it soon.&nbsp;If the Ultra2 is still syncing, GUI access may be adversly affected.&nbsp; The Ultra series have fairly poor performing processors by today's standards, so that kind of multi-tasking may be asking a lot (especially if also with limited memory).&nbsp;Do you have a specific issue with the IP address?

hi&nbsp;&nbsp;we did a reinstall of the os6 and now that is working&nbsp;but only dis is 1tb but only showing 459 &nbsp;there&nbsp;&nbsp;does it resize by in self or do we something like run this commund&nbsp;btrfs filesystem resize max /datahow to we run this if we need to&nbsp;from oliver &nbsp;

Is the volume still syncing?&nbsp; Can you post a screenshot of the volume page?

Please find screen shot enclosed&nbsp;As you can see bay 1 is 1tb and bay 2 is 500gb&nbsp;Volume as you can see is showing 458.95 &nbsp;free ?&nbsp;How do you get the volume to show the correct amount (1tb in bay 1 and 500gb in bay 2 ) ?&nbsp;Does it add the 2 drives together to make one total ?&nbsp;When using it does it put on either disc or does it fill one first ?&nbsp;Thanks Martin / Oliver&nbsp;

Your NAS is using RAID-1 - as you can see from the screenshot next to the volume wheel.&nbsp; RAID-1 mirrors the disks - everything written to one is simultaneously written to the other.&nbsp; That gives you some protection against a disk failure, and also allows you to expand the volume size later on without data loss.

Since they are mirrored, the volume size can't be bigger than smallest disk - 500 GB in you case.

Personally I think that RAID-1 is the best mode for most users.&nbsp; If you want to keep it, you should get two 2 TB drives (perhaps Seagate Ironwolf models).&nbsp; Using both would give you 2 TB of storage.&nbsp; Alternatively, get one Ironwolf to start, and just use one disk in the NAS now.&nbsp; Then add a second matching disk later on (as budget permits).&nbsp; A single Ironwolf 2 TB drive costs about $80 (current US pricing).

The other option is to set up the disks to be independent - using one volume for each disk.&nbsp; This mode is called "jbod".&nbsp; You'd need to&nbsp;

change to flexraid by clicking on the XRAID control in your screen shot.&nbsp; The green stripe on the control will disappear
destroy the current volume (click on the volume settings wheel)&nbsp;
click on the first drive in the center graphic and create a jbod volume
click on the second drive in the center graphic, and create a second jbod volume.

Then you need to put some shares on each disk.&nbsp; You don't want a volume to get more than about 85% full, so you want to set up the shares with that in mind.
