Telnet login on legacy ReadyNas Pro 2, unable to see files - any advice?
Hello, I recently bought a used ReadyNas Pro 2 running OS 6.10.10. It works ok but I want to backup the VPD file. Login in with telnet as root works but I can't find any files or change to the root...

I suspect you meant to link to
If you want to access the usual NAS filesystem you can enter "rnutil chroot" That will start RAID, and mount the NAS OS partition. Then it does the chroot. It won't mount the data volume (though that can be done with other commands). Then cd // should show you more folders.
Are you seeing the sda, sdb, and sdc in /dev?
Also - just be 100% sure... You have a Pro 2? Not a two bay OS-6 model (RN102, RN202, RN212, RN312, RN422)?
Sandshark might have other suggestions.

The process assumes you've booted with a valid volume installed. Is that the case when you make the attempt?

I have a valid volume, made it easy and created an X-RAID volume with the standard shares like Documents, Music ...
Just wanted to save copy the VPD file in case of any later problems.
