Ready Nas Adding a new disk
Hi.
I purchased a Readny NAS 104 and added 3 X 2TB Hard disks to Slot 1-3. Works Fine.
Today, I bought a 4TB WD Red HDD and added to the 4th slot.
The LED on display for 4th slot is ON.
on the admin panel, I can see that the 4th slot has SATA 4TB, but it is gray. I tried to select it and format it, but still it is gray and the capacity didn't expand.
Can anybody helps?
Thanks.
SOLVED:
TO UPDATE, I checked the Hard Disk. It was all good.
I left the device, and It found the Hard Disk after 24 Hours!
Now works fine.
Thanks Stephen for your comments.

Perhaps try rebooting the NAS.

The next step is to test the new drive. The best way is to connect the drive to a windows PC (either SATA or via a usb/sata adapter) and run Western Digital's lifeguard program.
Also, if you have a scratch disk available, you could insert it into slot 4 and see if it is recognized.
