Ready NAS NV+ (RND4425) - IP problems
Hi,
I have a strange issue with a RND4425, and don´t really know how to solve it.
Ok, so if I connect by a small gigabit unmanaged router GS608 v2, I keep getting 192.168.168.168, totally unreachable on network (even with port on router is UP and gigabit connected), Raidar doesn´t see it, even connecting direct to PC and changing PC IP to 192.168.168.1XX, still nothing. Noticed that there´s a green and orange led on NIC. Also tried directly on the ISP device, but no luck.
Only way I can make it work, is using an old TP Link router (with DD-Wrt), then I get both green leds on NIC, and all works, but limited to 100MB, due to TP Link limitation. Tried fixed IP and DHCP configurations.
So I´m clueless about what´s wrong. :(
Anyone can help?
Thank you

The 192.168.168.168 address is the address your NAS uses when it can't get an address via DHCP.
Try a different cable next - 100 mbit ethernet only uses 4 of the 8 wires in the cable; so one possible explanation is that one of the other wires has failed.

I already tested with 2 diferent cables.
I guess I´ll try another.
Thank you

Make sure they are at least cat 5e.
You can also try the cable with a different gigabit device connected to your switch, and see if you get an internet connection to that device.
