Ready Nas wont Boot
Hello, Have a Ready Nas RN10400. I applied yesterday a firmware update on the device which seemed to go well. It rebooted, came back up and everything was working as it should. I came to the device this morning and it was locked up and not responding. The only way to get it to respond was to do a hard reboot on the device. It now starts to boot, goes through its process but stays stuck on Booting... I hear no drive activity, the only thing that I see is that the power light it flashing steadily. RAIDar does not show the device now and the nothing is responding. Any suggestions?

Just a quick update. I did try to use a usb device and re-install the firmware. Didnt resolve anything, so I decided to install an older firmware version so see if it was the new one with the issues. Still no change. Have tested the hard drives and they report that they are fine. Not sure where to go from here. If there a way that I can pull the data off the drives so I dont loose anything?

this just happened to me! DO NOT let it boot all the way. if it crashes during the resync that my happen you will lose everything.
I have seem multiple people recoment booting it into read only mode, and getting evertyhing valuable off of it.
I hope this helps you not have to go through what I did this weekend of losing everything after the resync failed.

Good to know - how do you boot into read only mode? I'll have to try that tonight and see if I can than pull my data off.
