Well, 4 months later and STILL there is no response from Netgear. Guys, could you please come up with a solution to this "feature?"
Thank you.

Hi rjwerth,
Are you already using the 6.6.1 firmware?
ReadyNAS OS 6 Software Version 6.6.1
There are some bug fixes there that will be affecting the ReadyCloud.

No, I have not as there were a number of apps that needed updating when 6.6 came out. I'll see where all that is at and update it.
I am interested to know what things on the server side might be keeping this android app from working properly though.
Thanks.

Hi rjwerth,
Not 100% sure but it could be this issue:
Issue where failed DNS lookups could cause very long delays, which could affect ReadyCLOUD or Active Directory services.
This is one of the issues addressed on the new firmware.

I dont think the latest firmware has the fix to this problem.
I upgraded and breifly enabled the backup function on the readycloud android app, it just started to create the duplicate files.
All those files ending with (1).gif are duplicates.
The basic backup function is broken or was never working fully - any time if you pause and restart the backup, it will create duplicate files. Somehow, it doesnt realize the files that are already backed up.
