ReadyNAS 102 disabling FTP backup timeout
Hello,
As part of our backup schedule, we have 3 backups:
1. A backup of the public share via nfs to a separate NAS device
2. A backup of the private share via nfs to a separate NAS device
3. A backup of the private share via ftp to a cloud server
The first two work perfectly and quite quickly thanks ot the incremental backup system. However, our ftp backup fails every week due to ftp timeout. The backup is quite large, so it makes sense that it would timeout. The only possible working solution I can think of is to perform the ftp transfer using a computer as a middle-man and disabling timeout with FileZilla. However, I'd like to use the built-in ftp backup function of the ReadyNAS
So, question is: Can the ftp timeout be altered or disabled? I have no problem modifying the configuration of the ReadyNAS and am comfortable doing such.
Thanks in advance

Hi bsmerbeck,
How large is the file (backup) being transferred? Could you check if the disk spin down feature is turned on? Lastly, tell us which Firmware is running on your system.
Looking forward to your response.
Kind regards,

Hey there Brian,
So our backup size is currently 13.1GB, and disk spin down is not enabled.
In addition, the ReadyNAS device is running firmware 6.5.0
Best,
Brenden
