Interesting.
While I got kicked off the NAS earlier on my iMac, I notice another Mac here running 10.10.1, which I mounted one of the NAS shares after performing the NAS update, did not disconnect this time and is still mounted.
NAS System Log shows when I mounted it:

This share did eventually get disconnected though:
