ReadyNAS 10400 (RND-4D) stuck at "Booting..."

Hi all,

We've got a ReadyNAS RN10400 (Firmware: 6.2.5), it has (seemingly without any interaction) caused itself to not become reachable on the network via Finder/Explorer.

The front-end display shows "Booting...". This will not change, even after a long wait.

The boot menu for the device is accessible.

RAIDar can connect to it, via a direct connection between the NAS and a Windows PC.

It currently shows the status as "System starting up..." although the system will never come online.

I'd appreciate advice on how we can recover this, as we've got a few business docs on this NAS that currently don't have off-site backups.

The firmware is very old (July 2015), which complicates figuring this out.

    Some options are

    1. purchase ReclaiMe (which supports BTRFS file recovery), and connect one of the disks to PC.  Then extract all the data
    2. ask paid support (my.netgear.com) to come in remotely, diagnose it and and mount the volume
    3. go in with tech support mode, and attempt to mount the volume on your own.

ReclaiMe might be the fastest path, and you can see what it can recover prior to purchase.  If you do purchase, it would cost $199.
