Assuming you are running OS 6.10.4, is it showing Hotfix1 was installed? That's supposed to fix the antivirus update issue. If it's not installed, then you should believe the warning that the NAS is not connected to the internet. What are you using to assure that it is?

Yes the hotfix is shown as installed.
When I go to Apps it says internet available.

You can download the log zip file, and look in there for clues on what's happening. Netgear ( JohnCM_S or Marc_V ) might want to take a look, just so they can see what's going on.
A long shot (but easy to try) is to turn off the AV service and then try turning it on again.
