ReadyNas 312 Backup Job folder not connecting
I have setup a readyNas 312 on a small network of 6 pc's and all but one are connecting and backing up smoothly. However the one that is not connecting is proving a challenge for me to know what the issue is which is why I am leaving this message here.
I have checked all of the settings I know of on the PC's to ensure that they are all uniform but this one PC does not appear to be connecting.
In the Backup job panel on the readynas then all the details are as they should be but I get an error message saying that it cannot connect to the source.
I know that this is quite a broad description of the issue at hand and not very helpful to those who are maybe able to resolve this issue but I am keen to get to understand what the issue may be. I get the feeling that it is more to do with the PC in which case if anyone has any insight into what could be causing this disconnect then I'd appreciate any insights. The folders in question are all set to be shared, the has is showing in the PC attached devices. Both pc and has are connected to the same router and netgear switch. I am sure that there may be more questions than answers from anyone who may wish to offer guidance.
Look forward to your support.

The 6 PC's and the NAS are connected to the router via a netgear ethernet switch. The PC is detected on the router. All the network attributes I can see are the same for all of the PC's but I think I must be missing something. - RXLuminarySince only 1 of the 6 PCs gets an error message saying cannot connect to the source... have you check the permissions set on the share where the backup job from the PC (the one that cannot connect) is set to? I am thinking that it could be just a permission issue on the share where the backups are stored.
- AnthonyOAspirantThanks for your response.
I shall double check this the next time I am in at the office and see if it makes any difference. It may be a possibility as its been a while since I've checked the share settings on the NAS.- AnthonyOAspirant
Its been a while but I am still having this issue with one PC on a small network and I cannot seem to find a way for this to work.
I do think its the PC that is the issue but am not sure.
What should be the premissions on the actual folder? I am unfamiliar with PC permissions as I am myself Mac based but I am wondering if the permissions are correct for the folder would it be possible that something within the folder itself could be causing this issue. I may be clutching at straws but I am frustrated that I cannot resolve this.
Any thoughts anyone?

Do you have a log on/password set on the backup job? Normally that would be the PC user log on (or the PC folder being backed up would have broad permissions).
On the PC you'd right click the shared folder to see the file permissions. The basic concept is similar to the Mac.
