ReadyNAS 4312 Windows Server 2016 HyperV iSCSI LUN advice required
Hi,
I have a new ReadyNAS 4312 (rack) with 14TB avaialble storage.
A Windows Server 2016 Standard Hyper-V host
10GB connectivity between them.
What are safe iSCSI LUN and VHDX levels that I can be OK with.
I propose to build a Fileserver on the HOST with its System & Data VHDX files actually stored on a ISCSI LUN on the NAS using Micrososoft's iSCSI initiator.
Would a single 12TB LUN with say a 70GB VHDX (O/S) and a 10TB VHDX (data) be 'safe'
Or maybe a a smaller VHDX for data would be safer.
I don't want to oversize the LUN or VHDX for fear of corruption.
All suggestions welcome.
Andy.
