ReadyNas 516 SickBeard/Sabnzbd/Python

So I am trying to install Sab and Python from the Market and it seems like it is screwed up at the moment. I SSH'ed into the NAS 516 and did not see any of the programs I purchased through the store installed. I also did not see SickBeard for the 516. I can see it is running a Debian distro. So here is a question. Can I apt-get sickbeard or git? Will it show under the GUI? Will sickbeard do a Debian version? Any help installing these would truly be appreciated.
Thanks

If you apt-get something it will first look to the NetGear ReadyNAS repos and if it can't find it there will look in the standard Debian repo.
  • yep.. that is what I am currently doing. I've installed python manually (even though I purchased it from their genie site). They really need to fix that.
  • Btw, even though I don't like doing this. I installed the .py files through SSH. So far it looks like it is installing successfully. I will let you know in 10-15 min when it is all done. I might need to edit the ini files manually too (I don't know if these readynas 516 have pico or vi editors) don't know how vanilla or how customized the OS is. I am not even sure if I might be able to start the job when the nas device starts. I think it is a .conf file or I have to go to init.d. It has been a while since i've worked with Linux.
  • Looked like it is working. I get the sickbeard page. The files are still being compiled (installed?) but it looks like I am in good shape.
