ReadyNAS 516 Stuck at booting

Hello all,

I have searched the forums and tried the boot menu/OS ReInstall route and am now reaching out to see if there is another way to get my ReadyNAS 516 to boot. I have 22 years of family pictures on the device.

Is there is a way to CLI or install the OS another way?

Why do you think the problem is the OS?

What are you seeing on the LCD screen?

      Booting...

It has been stuck on that for about 18 hours now. No issues with the drives (RAID).

I shut it down to move it from one shelf to another and when I turned it on, I could connect to the web interface but couldn't connect to any of the shares I created. The NIC was bonded and set to static but still couldn't connect. Removed the bond and the static IPs and still couldn't connect.

Power down, remove the disks and power up again.  See if the LCD panel shows a "no disks" status or not.

Then power down again, and reinsert the disks.  Power up, and see if RAIDar gives you more status.

Tech support mode is possible, but options there are limited to the tools built into the boot loader if the OS partition on the disks isn't working right.

Do you recall the volume status when you were able to reach the web interface?

        Just to be clear:

        1. You removed the bond and static ip addresses
        2. You did an OS reinstall from the front panel

Did you reboot normally after (1)?   If so, did you see the extended "Booting..." message then?  Or did you only see it after you did the OS reinstall?
