ReadyNAS DUO drops off network

Well I seemed to have solved this problem...
Initially I had both of my readyNAS DUO boxes plugged directly into my router, and then a 16-port switch coming off the of the router and then to the computers/printers of the network.
By switching the NAS boxes to the switch,and a few users to the router directly, the problem seems to have been solved. I can't really explain why, maybe someone else will be able to.
