ReadyNAS Duo v2 Factory Reset but can not login

I have done a factory reset, but I can not login.
I tried admin+password and a lot of other combinations.
What can I do ?

  • The Duo v2 runs 5.3.x firmware, the Duo v1 runs 4.1.x firmware.

You seem to think you have a Duo v2, but the RAIDar screenshot above shows you are running 4.1.7 firmware.

So you in fact have a Duo v1. The labels are confusing, many people make this mistake.

The default admin password for the Duo v1 is netgear1.  So try that.

    Hi @pcpro1

How did the Factory reset finished? Are you seeing a new volume after resetting the NAS?

You are right on using the default password.

If you cannot get it to login, You may want to try rebooting or an OS-Reinstall or another reset. You may want to try using a different browser too.

Here is the boot menu guide for the Duo V2

    Regards

I can not login at 192.168.1.106

What message are you getting when logging in to the Admin page?

It shows there you have 2 disks configured so that is RAID-1 if configured by default.

Have you tried using a different browser? You may want to try that first then do an OS-Reinstall if you still cannot login to the Admin page.

Also, make sure your PC is on the same network and has the same IP address with only the 4th octet changed. (192.168.1.x)

Another Factory reset would be the last resort.

        Regards

Thank you so much it was netgear1 as password, I had no idea.
Unfortunately all was lost from previous installation, so I have to start over with this one.
      Its not my own.

      Im updating firmware right now.
Anything else I should think of ?

I suggest checking the SMART stats on the disks.  You can download the log zip file from the web ui, the stats are in there.
