Readynas Frontview inaccessible
Hey,
i've got a Readynas 1100 that just recently i'm no longer able to access via Frontview. I've logged into the server via ssh and attempted to restart apache2 but got the following error:
root :~# /etc/init.d/apache2 restart
Restarting web server: apache2grep: /etc/apache2/*: No such file or directory
env: /usr/sbin/apache2ctl: No such file or directory
failed!
Does anybody have an idea of where I should proceed from here to regain web access? The shares are still accessible and working fine.
Thanks

- try this..
root :~# killall apache-ssl
root:~#/usr/sbin/apache-ssl -f /etc/frontview/apache/httpd.conf
then login from Web Browser. - tgaler1Aspirantholy fuggggggggggg. that WORKED. MUCCCHHHHHH better fix than re-installing the firmware which I was about 24 hours from doing. Thanks a ton! Any suggestions on what may have caused that?
- chirpaLuminaryWith logs we can look for clues, see link in my sig.
- PacMan1AspirantHi,
I have a similar problem. I tried your wordpress guide and later removed the installation of mysql and php with the instructions posted by kuchars22..

I think i killed php and mysql so that frontview is inaccessible? Resinstalling the firmware did not solve the problem. The instructions posted by Jedi Knight
root :~# killall apache-ssl
root:~#/usr/sbin/apache-ssl -f /etc/frontview/apache/httpd.conf
result in..
ReadyNAS:~# killall apache-ssl
apache-ssl: no process killed (ok Apache was deactivated)
ReadyNAS:~# /usr/sbin/apache-ssl -f /etc/frontview/apache/httpd.conf
apache-ssl: Syntax error on line 278 of /etc/frontview/apache/httpd.conf: Syntax error on line 1 of /etc/frontview/apache/addons/php5.conf: Cannot load /usr/lib/apache2/modules/libphp5.so into server: /usr/lib/apache2/modules/libphp5.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
(and Apache cannot be restarted..)
I cannot send my logs since frontview in inaccessible. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!!
PacMan - PacMan1AspirantNo ideas?
I have a ReadyNAS Duo with RAIDiator 4.1.7 - NAS_tAspirantI also have a Duo with 4.1.7 with a similar problem.
Last week, I could no longer access FrontView. Firefox would not connect on either port 80 or 443.
The shares were all accessible (both AFP and CIFS mount points worked).
I could copy files to and from the unit.
The network interface responded to ping.
But Raidar could not find it.
Strangely, the bittorrent admin page (at port 8080) was alive. This seems to indicate that the Apache process was alive and well and handling incoming connections on 8080.
But no FrontView, hence no way to administer to system.
I don't have SSH enabled, so no way to login as root. I suppose I should enable SSH even though this apparently invalidates the warranty.
I forced the Duo to shutdown with the front panel power switch and rebooted. That cleared the problem. - BenD88AspirantI'm in the same boat...I can't seem to login to Frontview with the admin password. Did you figure this out yet? The only thing I can think of was the firmware update that I did. Other than that, the admin password shouldn't have changed.
- maverick56AspirantSame for me.
Cannot access to Frontview .
I reset the firmware, so I have not access with SSH.
Have you a solution ?
Tks - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredIf EnableRootSSH was installed the SSH password would've been reset to the default password for RAIDiator 4.x (http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/boot/how_do_i_reset_the_readynas_to_factory_default) as well as the admin password after the OS/Firmware Re-install. Data remains intact.
