ReadyNAS IP address confusion
Hi all! I'm struggling to understand some IP address conundrums, which I'm sure are simple, but I'm not sure where to look for answers. Any insight would be very appreciated I've got a fibre c...

Is something else on the network (perhaps the mesh system) also giving out IP addresses? That can cause quite an issue.

Sandshark thanks for the reply! Yes I've just looked, the mesh is set to 192.168.5.1 as a DHCP Server LAN IP Address, and 192.168.1.254 as the primary DNS server.
Should the mesh IP address and router address both be set to the same thing - i.e. 192.168.1.1?

You need one single LAN, one single broadcast domain for transparent communication all over your network. Only one router connecting to the Internet, and the same router LAN ports where he Mesh systems (whatever systems these are) must be configured as plain L2 access point without any routing, NAT, ...

Typically, only one device has DHCP/NAT turned on. There are special cases where more than one can, but there are a lot of things to be considered so you do not have a "double NAT" situation or two devices giving out contradictory addresses, which can cause just such a problem.
Did you recently add one or both of the mesh systems, and that's when the trouble started? Or change the modem/router? If so, and the device connected to the fiber is both a modem and a router, turn off DHCP/NAT on the mesh. If the mesh has a separate WAN port from any LAN ports, that may also mean you need to connect your router to a LAN port instead of WAN.
There are probably some other configurations that will work, such as putting the modem/router in pass-through (modem only) mode and using one of the mesh devices for DHCP/NAT, but I'd need more details of how each device is configured and what options you have (some internet providers give you limited access to the options for the modem/router).

It sounds like you might have set up the mesh as a router. With your setup it would be simplest to set it up as an AP.
What mesh system do you have?
