READYNAS NV + V2 - Volume has disappeared after failed resync
READYNAS NV+ V2 running Reported disc3 failure, replaced 2tb disc with 4tb WD Red, resync started then failed with errors below and disc4 flashing! Wasn't doing anything, adjusted volume size displayed but not accessible, left for a while then restarted. Now Volume not visible via Dashboard, but shares still displayed in share view. RAID sync finished on volume C. The array is still in degraded mode, however. Annoyingly, my last good backup was the end of June, as I didn't see the emails that HDD was full. Hello erskinejohn,
There is a possibility that while the new hard drive was on a sync process the another hard drive failed that brought the volume down. Can the raidar still detect the NAS from the network? Can you still download the complete the logs and provide us the copy, you may use file sharing website like wikisend and PM me the download link.

I will start it up again and try RAIDAR. What will that tell me? I can still access the admin page - that's how I got the log excerpt. I'm fairly sure you are correct with Hard Drive 4 being the suspected culprit.

Yes, I can see it in RAIDAR - even shows status as HEALTHY! I would beg to differ....

Pretty sure that's the culprit then. All other disks show ZERO, but this now displays as OK in Admin page and healthy on RAIDAR. What to do to restore the volume? I have a replacement HDD to swap in as soon as it's back up. I'm sure I'm in warranty for the faulty WD Red too..........

Based on the logs disk 4 is faulty. There is possibility the while the replacement hard drive for the disk 3 was syncing, disk 4 failed and now the volume is down. This concern may require assistance from our engineers and/or higher tier who can remote in to the NAS and fix this from the backend. The process may require data recovery contract you may contact our support to avail the contract.
