ReadyNAS NV+: changing hard drives
Hi,
I am ancountering some problems with an upgrade of the drives in my ReadyNAS NV+.
I have 4 functioning 1 TB drives, now I wonder to change all the 4 drives with three new (WD Red) 3 Tb drives.
I've started with slot 1, substituting it after a boot of the NAS.
The LED of the drive continued to flash for more than 24 hours, it seems without any progress of the RAID resync.
In the log files (and in the e-mail warnings) I've found some messages about the drive removal, the following drive insertion, and a final error message (sorry for the bad translation) that says:
Drive in slot 1 unreachable. Most common reasons are: RAID resync is going on, damaged units or disks of insufficient dimensions to be added to the array.
What should I try next ?
Thank you
Your NV+ (v1) support disks up to 2TB in capacity. The disk you added is incompatible.
The 3TB disk would be seen as having <1TB capacity as your NAS does not have GPT support.
