After upgrading to FW version 6.9.1 from 6.8.x i see log messages that indicate PSU1 not detected and PSU2 not detected. The unit is populated with 12 4TB drives. I've attempted to upload the logs but the zip file is not accepted. Furthermore only jpg, gif, png, pdf are the only file types accepted. Am I expected to convert every file contained log download from .log (text) to a pdf?Solved5KViews0likes13CommentsReboot ALWAYS fails after firmware upgrade on ReadyNAS RR4312X
Hi, I've just upgraded our NetGear ReadyNAS RR4312X from 6.8.0 to 6.9.1 and actioned a reboot using the webUI after the upgrade. However once again (this happens after every FW upgrade), the system fails to come online again. The system doesn't even respond to PINGs. - We have to power cycle the system after every upgrade to get it back online again. NB: The firmware installs successfully everytime, so it's just the reboots afterwards that are problematic. Not good for remote sites! Any idea's please? P.S. my entered text 'ReadyNAS RR4312X wont save in the 'Model' section of this web support form.1.6KViews0likes7CommentsAfter update of 516 from 6.6.1 to 6.8.1 old volumes from prior factory default showed back up
I just upgraded from 6.6.1 to 6.8.1 (after testing 6.8.1 on a 316). The upgrade process went smootly and it seems to work okay, however, some old volumes (vol2 and vol3) that were from a prior factory default showed back up in the UI. Under system --> volumes it now shows data, eda1 (expected), but also shows vol2 and vol3 (that should not exist). The volumes vol2 and vol3 do not show that they are using any disks and the only option I have is to destroy or balance them (balance is strange as there are no disks assigned). I would like to destroy them, but I am a little nervous and want to check with someone from Netgear before doing so as I dont want to inadvertantly destroy data or eda1 volumes. Thanks in advance, -David719Views0likes2CommentsShares goes read-only after a while after upgrade to 6.8.0
Hi, After upgrading to 6.8.0 I have a strange behavior. After every boot, everything is fine for some time (up to half an hour) and then file system goes read only. After boot: root@NasSebUltra6:/# mount | grep -v snapshot | grep '(ro' tmpfs on /sys/fs/cgroup type tmpfs (ro,nosuid,nodev,noexec,mode=755) After some time: root@NasSebUltra6:/# mount | grep -v snapshot | grep '(ro' tmpfs on /sys/fs/cgroup type tmpfs (ro,nosuid,nodev,noexec,mode=755) /dev/md127 on /data type btrfs (ro,noatime,nodiratime,nospace_cache,subvolid=5,subvol=/) /dev/md127 on /home type btrfs (ro,noatime,nodiratime,nospace_cache,subvolid=256,subvol=/home) /dev/md127 on /apps type btrfs (ro,noatime,nodiratime,nospace_cache,subvolid=257,subvol=/.apps) /dev/md127 on /run/nfs4/home type btrfs (ro,noatime,nodiratime,nospace_cache,subvolid=256,subvol=/home) Strange thing is, there no new entry in system logs. It juste goes in readonly until next reboot. I launched a scrub just in case, but I don't really believe it will chance anything. Does anyone have some idea about how to solve this ?Solved1.5KViews0likes3CommentsFirmware Update RN4220 from 6.6.1 -> 6.7.4
I have an RN4220 with an iSCSI LUN that we use as a backup destination for our network. It's fully populated with 4TB WD Enterprise drives. I've been nagged with the "Firmware update available 6.6.1 -> 6.7.4" screen for a while, and had an opportunity to take down the backup server so I could firmware update the RN4220. 45 minutes ago, I clicked the Update button on the web console. It downloaded, said it needed to do a reboot. Pings dropped off, and it's not come back online since that point in time. The power light is flashing green, no other disk activity is evident. Next step? Never had to troubleshoot this thing before...2.6KViews0likes2CommentsFile Permissions Messed Up After HDD Change On PC
Hey Guys I have an issue with my ReadyNAS Ultra 4 Plus (4.2.30), where I cannot copy anything to any of the directories on it, or delete, move any files. The only thing I can do is copy files from the ReadyNas to my PC, but nothing else. This seemed to have occured after I upgraded the HDD on my PC to an SSD and clean installed Windows 7. How the hell do I get back my permissions? I've searched and everything I read makes my brain melt. So much so I gave up three months ago and have only just got round to checking on this issue again. Has anyone had this issue who knows how to recify this nifghtmare? I need to take back ownership of these files.Solved3KViews0likes2CommentsRN214 - No IP address after 6.6.1 Update
Hi Guys, I'm in need of some assistance. I've just updated the rn214 to 6.6.1 and the nas now states no ip address on the front panel. A shutdown has not made any difference. It's directly connected to the router and was working fine before the update. Any suggestions?Solved5.6KViews0likes11CommentsReady NAS NV+ (RND4425) keeps restarting
Hi All, I need help with my Ready NAS NV+, it's an old a very reliable unit that is serving me well. Though since yesterday, it keeps restarting and it finally was off when I decided to pull the wall plug to prevent endless restart until receiving advices on what to do. I checked the logs on the unit before it's last shutdown (on its own) and apart for seeing that it restarted multiple time, checking disks, found and corrected errors, and resyncing, nothing really explains why it was behaving like this (System status was reporting no fault : Disks / Temp / Fan / UPS) Of course I would prefer not to lose the data on the disks. I already purchased a large USB drive to hopefully backup the data if I can get it back online again. So I was wondering : * Is there an upgrade path to simply take the disks of my current NV+ and move them to a new unit ? * Is there an obvious failure of the PSU or anything like this (I saw a recall for the PSU, though my serial number is not included in the range given here) ? * Any other advice tips that I can follow to make sure this unit can still work or if it is doomed to die quickly ? Also what are the support options : does Netgear offer some services to make or help making the upgrade ? Best Regards, Stéphane.Solved4.3KViews0likes8Comments
