ReadyNAS NV seems to boot but is inaccessible
My good old ReadyNAS NV (purchased in 2006) has recently started to have issues when booting, where it seems to get through part of the boot sequence, but ends up in an inaccessible state.
- The unit is visible in Raidar, but seems stuck showing "File system check, 100%", and with the "Setup" and "Browse" buttons grayed out (not clickable)
- The lights for the 4 drives are solid, the Act light flashes momentarily every 3 or so seconds, and the power light pulses twice about
- I can't access the unit via Frontview, but I can ping the device's IP address
- Pushing the power button doesn't seem to turn it off, so I end up pulling the plug to power-cycle it
Does anyone have any thoughts about what's going on? I tried to reinstall the firmware by holding down the Reset button while booting until the drive lights flashed once, but that didn't seem to help.
Thanks in advance,
Michael

- RabbieAspirantNeed to boot to "Tech support" mode for netgear support engineer.
You can have a phone to netgear local support(the call center) for help.
Also can PM me the remote host(wan ip address) when you boot the nas to "tech supprot" mode and forward the port 23 to internet. - MichaelNAspirantI didn't see a response for a few days and ended up resetting to the factory settings. When reinstalling, it indicated that one of the drives was bad. Not sure if this was the cause of the problem or not. Thanks for the offer to help, though.
