ReadyNAS NV+ v1 not booting, HD Lights 1 & 3 on - Cant find 4.1.16 USB Recovery
Hi all,
I hope someone might be able to steer me in tthe right direction to help me sove my problem.
Had a power cut after trying to restat the device the blue power light would flash rappidly and then only the drive lights 1 & 3 would stay on, not even the LED display. Scratching my head, I went and ordered a replacement PSU off ebay thinking it had to o with the power outage. After replacing the PSU, the same issue occured.
After even more head scracthing, a lightbulb turned on that I should check whether there was any meaning to the order of the lights (Its been years since I've had to tinker with it) .
After a while I found the ReadyNAS LED Language doc which discribes exactly what is happening.
The Description says: "Boot loader fails to locate valid RAIDiator image, TFTP or USB OS image recovery required"
Following some of the older forum posts, I'm directed to this page for the version of Raidiator that I'm running. I seem to only be able to find the firmware but not the USB flash Recovery file which I think I need.
Could any kind soul correct me if I am wrong and what I should do from here? Does anyone have the flash recovery file for 4.1.16? There was also a warning on the USB recovery page saying that ReadyNAS boot loader does not support USB flash drives with USB hub built-in. As it's 2020 now, is this still going to be a problem? I can only find Sandisks which seems to all have USB hub.
Thanks guys,
UPDATE: Problem solved
Befaor I started throwing miney at this issue, I remembered about the memory. I ordered a cheap replacement of Amazon and installed today. The box wakes up and is running as normal now. Next step is to look to migrate my data to a new location.
Thanks

I'd confirm your analysis of the LEDs with RAIDar. https://kb.netgear.com/20684/ReadyNAS-Downloads
I'd also try booting up the NAS with no disks, and see if you get the normal "no disks" status.

You're running a NAS that's been out of production for 9 years - so it still is a problem. But the sandisk thumb drives I see out there do not have a USB hub built in..

Hi, thanks for your reply..
After I hit the power button, I get nothing after the initial flashing power light and the solid disk LEDs so I can't get this to get on my network for RAIDar to detect (unless there is something that would run in the background I'm unaware of). I attach a copy of the doc I followed regarding the LEDs (Row 4).
Yes, as part of my tinkering I tried a number of variations of disk insertions - The status display screen also does not light up so I do not get any feedback - Also the disks are not spinning.
So Sandisks seem to not be an issue then which is great - Does this now mean I should go for the USB recovery? If yes, where do I find the correct file I need? If no, anything else I should do?
Thanks so much,

The boot loader can communicate over the network, so please do try RAIDar. There is some risk in the USB recovery, so it's best to be certain that it is needed. https://kb.netgear.com/21400/RAIDiator-4-1-USB-Recovery-Tool
