ReadyNAS NV+ V2 Factory Reset Loop

My ReadyNAS NV+ V2 was reset with a factory Boot. Factory Reset Boots normally; presenting Volume, shares and re-syncing. Upon reboot it enters another factory reboot without user intervention.

Reloaded OS and factory reset reboot again, system still enters Factory Reboot mode without user intervention.

Has anyone seen this behavior before?

Turns out this was a customer induced problem. Quickly resolved by support!

When you do a factory default and choose the secure erase option in RAIDar and interrupt the erase before it completes the disks would remain security locked and security enabled.

When the disks are locked the NAS thinks the disks have nothing on them (I think) and does a factory default as a result each boot.

After the disks have been security unlocked and security disabled, the NAS should operate as normal again.

The secure erase option shouldn't be necessary for most users. If you are planning on disposing of the disks in the NAS then you may wish to do one to make sure the data is unrecoverable.

The commands to unlock the disks are found here: https://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=391272#p391272
