ReadyNas NV+
Hi,
I need to reset the admin password for my ReadyNAS NV+ unit. The default admin/netgear1 does not work. I've forgotten what I set it to - it's well over six months.
I tried the http://<IP-Address>/passwotd_recovery and unfornuately I do not remember the email and/or the answer to the recovery question.
How do I reset to factory defaults so I can have access to the box?
Thanks.

- With the NV+ (v1 - silver chassis).
1. Press and hold reset button
2. Briefly press power button to turn unit on and continue holding reset button
3. After about 5 seconds the disk LEDs will blink once and text something like "5: OS Re-install" will display on the LCD screen.
4. Release the reset button.
The NAS will then complete the OS Re-install.

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserDo you have an NV+ v1 or an NV+ v2? Default password in the V2 line is "password", the V1 uses "netgear1".
An OS reinstall will reset the password and the network configuration back to defaults without destroying your data. http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/boot/how ... e_firmware - nas_novice1AspirantThanks for the reply.
I guess I want to be completely clear.

When power is off, there will be no LED to watch.

Do the LED Flashes appear when it is powered on later, or when I depress the Reset for five seconds?
