ReadyNAS NVX wont power up
I was replacing my UPS with a more powerful one, so shut down all three of my ReadyNAS (2 Pro 4's and an NVX).
But after doing this, the NVX will not power on (The 2 Pro 4's are fine). I believe it was using firmware 4.2.26
I suspect the PSU might have blown, but cant understand what would have caused that.
Is there any advice to troubleshoot this?
I saw on some very old NVX its sometimes an issue with the CMOS battery
But on my NAS the CMOS battery is not easily accessible, and so I suspect it might not apply
Is the PSU replaceable, in the event it has blown?
Thanks
It is replaceable look here

Or, for a cheaper option, with a bit more effort from you, see here: Inexpensive power supply replacement for legacy 4-bay Readynases. And, BTW, it is much more common for the power supply to fail on a power-up than when running continuously.

Thanks for the help!
I'll just throw some money at it and get the easy option :-)

Maybe I should go into business on the side and under-cut those guys. Too bad we don't have the trading post area of the forum any longer. Using eBay would add to the price.
BTW, those suplies do have an internal fan (as did the one for the early Infrant NV), and it can be a bit annoying because the small size creates a pretty high frequency. The one I modified had automatic temperature control of fan speed, which helps. Hopefully, theirs do, too. I also did still install the plastic shield, using some aluminum tape to hold it in place since the new one lacks the channels for it.
