Readynas Ultra 2 - fluctuating fan speed OS 6.6
Hi There.
The rpm of the fan in my Ultra 2 is constantly flucuating between ~750 and ~875 every few seconds. I can hear the fan speed up and speed down over and over again. THe voltages and temperatures seen quite steady. The fan is set to quiet, and I'm running os 6.6, although I believe the same behavior was present when running 6.5.2.
Do you have any idea, why it is doing that?
Below is a screendump of netdata.
Thanks in advance,

You could try overriding the minimum fan speed. See e.g. https://community.netgear.com/t5/Using-your-ReadyNAS/OS-6-5-2-still-causes-fan-issues-on-the-PRO-6-like-OS-6-5-1-but/m-p/1138003/highlight/true#M115451

Hi.
Thanks for your reply.
When I try to do as suggested i get an error:
admin@BearNasUltra2:~$ echo 1000 > /etc/frontview/min_fan_speed_override
admin@BearNasUltra2:~$ systemctl restart readynasd
Failed to restart readynasd.service: The name org.freedesktop.PolicyKit1 was not provided by any .service files
See system logs and 'systemctl status readynasd.service' for details.
admin@BearNasUltra2:~$What am I doing wrong?

Hmmm. Can you download your logs using RAIDar 6.1 and send them in (see the Sending Logs link in my sig)?
